It was good to hear from you. As you know, I am still active with the North Side Greens, so there are one or two questions. Warning you in advance that I will share your responses with others.

  1. It is good that Bernie is a socialist. We would be disinclined to trust him if he were not. Where does Bernie stand on this issue?

We do not favor tampering with small organizations and proprietorships, but are deeply suspicious of the power of corporate America. If Bernie wishes to simply put everything under central control, then we will have difficulty. If he leaves corporations under their present control again, problems for us. We favor community control of large enterprises, and limitations on size and market share.

  2. We favor steady-state economics, with government intervening to limit use of non-renewable resources and 100% recycling.

  3. We accept the scientific consensus on global warming and agree that an all-out program to eliminate use of fossil fuels is necessary. We are not aware that any Democrat has proposed doing this. Where does Bernie stand?

  4. We oppose globalism as exploitative and unsustainable. We favor the use of tariffs to wind it down. We think Trump has not gone far enough.

We know of no Democrat who favors tariffs. All, it seems to us, take a neo-liberal stance on this crucial issue.

    Where does Bernie stand?

  5. Millions of Americans are considered to no longer be in the workforce. This is why headline unemployment numbers are so low. Simple observation tells us that the UI numbers must be fictitious and there are published analysis confirming this.

Democrats seem unwilling to discuss this issue.

    Where does Bernie stand?

  6. In a democracy every political viewpoint should be represented on the ballot. We don't think a two party system can be democratic.
