IBEW Picketing AT&T Over Outsourcing

IBEW Local 21 members were picketing AT&T locations on Wednesday in a dispute over outsourcing. IBEW's contract with AT&T expires on Saturday, June 27.

According to picketers who spoke to the North Side Greens, a problem impeding negotiations is AT&T's insistence on outsourcing jobs.

At a recent meeting of the North Side Greens, members heard and then discussed an interview with Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under President Reagan. Outsourcing of jobs, according to Roberts, is a cause of America's present economic woes. The middle class is being destroyed, according to Roberts, because the US has been "betrayed by its elites."
