Paul Craig Roberts served as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury during Ronald Reagan's first term, gaining fame as the father of Reaganomics. In an interview which should have garnered national attention, Thomas White, of Business Matters, asks the former Assistant Secretary to explain America's current economic difficulties.
The issues Dr. Roberts raises in this interview will be familiar to North Side Greens, but may disturb those who are hearing them for the first time.
Roberts links the job exporting policies of "free trade globalist ideologues" to the debt and housing bubbles. These led to last year's economic collapse, he says. Worse is to come, according to Roberts, and he offers little hope of avoiding collapse.
You can listen to the broadcast here: Interview with Paul Craig Roberts (37 minutes). The interview was broadcast Friday on WLUW.
The North side Greens will hear and discuss the Roberts interview during their June 8 meeting.
